Im Auftrag des GeoLaB Konsortiums lädt das GFZ Helmholtz Zentrum für Geowissenschaften zur ersten GeoLaB Konferenz vom 09.-11.04.2025 in Potsdam ein.
Ein einseitiger Abstract für oral oder poster Präsentationen kann hier bis zum 14.03.2025 eingereicht werden.

We invite contributions to all themes related to the exploration, development and scientific use of underground research laboratories including experimental, numerical and field work of interest. GeoLaB is adressing fundamental as well as applied research topics such as:
- Coupled thermal-hydraulic-mechanical-(bio)chemical processes (THMC) with state-of-the-art visualisation and a ‘digital twin’,
- Flow experiments under controlled conditions (CHFE – Controlled High-Flow Experiments) as the basis for efficient and sustainable management of fractured reservoirs,
- Development of efficient construction and utilisation strategies for underground facilities,
- Development of technology and assessment criteria for the integrity of deep wells,
- Development of novel stimulation technologies including engineered THMC processes,
- Development of strategies for transparent interaction between research and society in the context of research infrastructures.
Upon registration, we will ask participants for a conference fee to cover for food and drinks provided during the meeting. The regular fee will be 100 Euro and 50 Euro for undergraduate students.
